Re: Arrest Made Armed Robbery

Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detective Marty Faulkner arrested Francisco Arellano in connection with an armed robbery on February 2, 2012.


On February 2, 2012, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to 1865 Highway 70 West in Okeechobee.The store clerk and manager reported they had been robbed by a masked individual armed with a gun who came in and left through the back door. The clerk reported the suspect pointed a gun at her neck and made her open the cash register. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of money.


The victim provided a description to include all black clothing and a hoodie. The suspect also had an ace bandage or mask covering his face.


Detective M.D. Faulkner managed and directed the investigation which involved interviews, collection of evidence and recovery of the weapon. He was assisted by other investigators in locating Arellano. Detective Faulkner stated, “It was a team operation.”


Arellano was arrested and charged with Robbery with Weapon While Masked and is being held at the Okeechobee County Jail, bond $100,000.00.

Sheriff Paul C. May said of the arrest, “This was very quick work by detectives, starting with very little and very shortly making an arrest. As always, we’re very proud of them.”


This case is still under investigation. No further information to be released at this time.
